A septate uterus is the most common of all Müllerian duct anomalies. It is characterized by the presence of a septum that divides the uterine cavity.

The longer the longitudinal septum, the less space available in the uterus for fetal development.

Depending on the extension and composition of the septum, surgery may be required to be able to conceive.
