Surrogacy arrangements are permitted by law in the Republic of Georgia, in Europe, since 1997, when the the law “On Health” came into force.

A basic requirements is that the intended parents are a married straight couple with a medical cause that prevents them from having a child naturally. For example, women without uterus or with a Müllerian duct anomaly.
